Dried Out Wineskins, Broken Bones, The Walking Dead
And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.”
Ezekiel 37
1The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones. 2 And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry.
3 And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” 4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. 6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8 And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them.
9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.
God clearly had revival, awakening and reformation on His mind for Israel.
God’s mercy extended His blessings to be fulfilled in greater measure through Jesus our blessed redeemer. Apathy led to disobedience, dryness, thirst, hunger and death for Israel. The same can happen to any Christian and church today. The question we have to ask ourselves today is: can God bring back to life dried out wine skins and broken dead bones? But what if the dried out wineskins and broken dead bones don’t realize they’re dried out wineskins and broken dead bones or two breathes away from death?
Part One. The Rattling Bones Of The Living Dead
Revival miraculously becomes the click word of focus when dryness, emptiness, hardship and evil overwhelms both the church and society. God’s people, led by The Holy Spirit will cry out to God through The Holy Spirit. God’s mercy quickens us to seek change when we see evil abound. Change will come if we allow Him to move in and on us. God is faithful to cause us to humble ourselves. The Holy Spirit will enlighten us if we are listening. He will give us revelation that will leads us to our knees and position us to receive His mercy, forgiveness and guidance that directs us to reformation.
However, we must be willing to receive His revelation that will most certainly identify our depravations, the things that causes one to be dried out wineskins and old dead broken bones. Here is a brief list of seven areas to introspect: Our Desires, His Presence, Our Depravity, Bad Leaven, His Promises, Our Prayers and Our Proclamations.
A. Desires
Who or what is the focus of your desires? What many people don’t realize, God allows death to happen. Are you a dried out wineskin or dead broken bones walking? There is hope!
Fact! Unless the seed falls to the ground there can be no new life.
God knows what people need and He knows their inner most desires, those wants, from deep within their hearts. Desires can be both good or bad. When bad desires try to take over God is faithful to prompt us to check our thoughts that direct our desires. His Holy Spirit will convict us prompting us to check our desires by renewing our thoughts through the washing of His word. He faithfully gives us warning after warning by His Holy Spirit and through His prophets and ministers.
His love is faithful. The bible repeatedly reveals how God tried to intervene and bless His people, to keep them from sinning and He still does today. God’s people have to recognize their desires, humble themselves and expect to receive a time of His visitation. We must the take the time to reflect on what our desires are compelling us to focus on. We can press into God and asked Him about anything in our lives. We can ask Him if He is first in all things concerning our relationship with Him. Jesus said: Love the Lord they God with all your heart, soul and body. He also told us to: abide in Him, press into Him, learn from Him, listen to His voice and walk in obedience to what He tells us; for through Him and from our Father does every good and perfect flow. If we aren’t putting God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit first in all things then what desire is coming before Him in our life?
Take time to pray and fast. Repent for any sins or iniquities that you have done. If anything pops into your mind when you pray asking God to identify what you’re putting before Him He will prompt a memory or behavior of what it is. Ask The Lord to forgive you and Thank Him for blessing you and loving you. Then ask The Lord to reveal to you what He would like for you to do concerning the desire He revealed. Ask Him to remove the bondage and desire causing you to sin. Ask Him to help you move forward saved, set free, healed and delivered from that issue. Then pray and ask if there are any other desires and obstacles in your life that He wants you to deal with. Many times The Lord deals with one issue at a time as He blesses us with His Manifest presence.
If none of this is registering or you find yourself rolling your eyes proceed to the next point because you have some major issues going on in your life.
